I made the mistake of swimming in the Gulf of Thailand 2 hours prior to my flight home. Any liquid, even from a shower or bath in your ears can cause unbearable pain upon landing and takeoff, if you have sensitive ears take a Sudafed or other decongestant at least 1 hour prior to take off. For me I start taking Sudafed 2 days prior to my flight and haven't experienced the discomfort since.

A pair of lightweight smartwool socks in your purse or pocket can come in handy if you get a chill. And Marcie was right on about the ear plugs, I always carry them with me no matter what mode of transport I use for travel. They can save your sanity with coughing people and screaming children.

I found that if I eat very little on a flight and drink only water, I feel so much better when I get to my destination. But everyone is different.

Long flights can make you a bit anxious or stressed at times. You might want to ask your Dr. for a couple of low milligram Xanax to relieve any stress.

The Bus looks very comfy. The Cliffs were amazing. I've been watching Fall for a Dancer and I knew I hadn't seen it before but the story was too familiar. I realized that I read the book years ago. Grim indeed but in a very real way. We got our first frost last night in W. TN. Burrrr! Enjoy the last few days of your trip! xo
